On Sunday October 04th, 2009 at 16:55 hours Companies 18,43,49,67, RIT 14, and Medic 102-B were dispatched to Pathmark store at 420 E. Macdade Blvd for a building fire. 18-9 (Carollo) responded POV when firebored advised of a working fire in the loading dock area in the rear of the store. Engine 18-3 under the command of 18-9A (Salmieri) responded, was ordered to lay a supply line from the front of the store to rear of building. 18-3 layed 700ft of 5in hose to back of the store, where they found heavy fire at rear of trailer. 18-3 lead off with 2 13\4in handlines. Tower 49 (Milmont) was ordered to check roof for extention. Company 67 (Woodlyn) helped 18-3 with fire suppresion. Engine 43 (Holmes) picked up the hydrant in front of the store and supplyed 18-3. Fire was under control in about 20 minutes. Cause is still under investigation by fire marshal. Units were on scene for 1hr and 20min.
